Case Study: Cyclistic Bike-Share
This capstone project was part of the Google Coursera Professional Data Analytics Certificate.
Objective:
To perform a comprehensive data analysis for Cyclistic Bike-Share, a fictional bike-share company based in Chicago.
The focus was to answer key business questions by applying the data analysis process:
Business Context:
As a member of Cyclistic’s marketing analytics team, the project’s goal was to:
- Maximise the number of annual memberships to drive future business success.
- Develop marketing strategies to convert casual riders into annual members.
Data:
Analysis was based on data from the past 12 months.
Tools Used:
- BigQuery SQL for data processing.
- Google Data Studio for visualisation and reporting.
Key Insights:
- Customer segmentation revealed two main groups:
- Casual Riders: Non-members using the service for one-off trips.
- Annual Members: Loyal customers with subscriptions.
- Identified usage patterns and preferences to target casual riders effectively.
- Designed data-driven strategies for marketing campaigns.
